In March, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published the fourth and final instalment of their Sixth Assessment Report. Compiled by the world’s leading climate scientists, it gathers together all the knowledge and research on the climate crisis and has one overarching message: drastic action is needed now. It is the last big report from the IPCC until 2030 and will play a pivotal role in informing COP28.

The central message is that rapid, deep and immediate greenhouse gas emission reductions across all sectors are needed this decade if humanity is to secure a viable and sustainable future. This report is our final warning! But yet again, they have ignored the cow in the room, failing to discuss how ditching meat and dairy needs to be pushed up the agenda if we are to meet our climate targets.
