Got Mylk? Students Get Free Vegan Milk And Cookies This Veganuary

This Veganuary Bristol-based vegan charity Viva! are on a mission to tantalise student’s taste-buds by giving out FREE vegan cookies and Oatly milk.

Over the coming weeks Viva! will embark on a tour of university ReFresher fairs handing out samples of four types of cookies as well as the new semi-skimmed and chocolate Oatly milks – all TOTALLY FREE!

The campaign follows on from their hugely successful 2019 tour of university fresher fairs where they spoke to thousands of students about the dairy industry and highlighted the benefits of going dairy-free.

Recent years have seen record numbers of people switching to a plant-based diet and this year over 380,000 people have pledged to go vegan by signing up to Veganuary.

Consumer buying habits are shifting as more people recognise the benefits of veganism for their health, the planet and animals. As a result, we are seeing an explosion of vegan products available in mainstream shops. Veganism is big business and even fast-food giants Burger King, KFC and McDonalds have created new vegan options.

Will Sorflaten, Viva! Campaigner, explains the reasoning behind the tour.

“We’re touring to educate students about the health, animal welfare and environmental motivations for going dairy-free. With this event, we are hoping to reach new students who may have never considered plant-based alternatives.

“Going dairy-free is such a positive and simple change to make. With our tasty range of cookies and dairy-free milks we’re going to be showing students how delicious it is too! It is so easy and cost-effective to be vegan at university, more and more young people are choosing to use their consumer power to lessen their environmental impact and save animals.

“So if you want to try some or simply want to learn more about veganism, come visit our stall. We’re expecting queues so make sure that you get there early to enjoy some free tasty treats!”
