Cardiff boasts an impressive array of delicious plant-based restaurants and an ever-growing vegan community. Now, animal welfare charity Viva! are returning to the city in celebration of all things vegan!

This February – building on the roaring success of last year – animal welfare charity Viva! are returning to Cardiff on 16 February with their Viva! Vegan Festival to celebrate delicious plant-based foods.

Located in the dynamic and bustling Cardiff City Hall, the vegan festival is home to over 90 stalls each offering unique vegan delights. So whether you’re looking for outstanding ethical clothing or just some foodie inspiration, the festival will be a brilliant day out for all the family.

Throughout the day, attendees will have the opportunity to taste vegan food, explore cruelty-free clothing and cosmetics, and learn more about health and nutrition. From delicious pies from local caterer Mr Nice Pie, to hot street food traders Got No Beef Burgers, La Bonne Crepe and Mission Pizza, to gooey decadent chocolate brownies from Dark Matters.

There will be a stellar line-up of talks and workshops, including advice on vegan activism from the Viva! Campaigns team, plus live cookery demonstrations featuring recipes from Vegan Recipe Club.

Viva! founder and director Juliet Gellatley said: “Interest in veganism has continued to soar globally and shows no signs of slowing down. Viva!’s vegan festivals are a fantastic way of bringing people together and showcasing the benefits of a vegan lifestyle. Regardless of dietary choices, we want everyone to come along and see just how wonderful vegan food can be. There is no better way to continue the momentum from Veganuary than with our vegan festival.”

Entry is just £3 on the door, £2 for students or VIP ticket for £13, which includes fast-track entry and a goody bag full of products, samples and discounts. Better yet – kids under the age of 16 go free.

All proceeds go back to the charity to help Viva! conduct important undercover investigations, monitor the latest research on health and environmental issues, and host vegan outreach events.
